JACKIE DELUXE
There’s a certain alchemy in the music of Jackie Deluxe—a new collaboration between Irish songwriter Caoilian Sherlock and Leitrim-based producer Keith Diffley (aka Diffly). Their debut single Outside captures that rare space where emotion meets motion—where storytelling dances in the strobe light.
Built on a shared love of glistening synths, propulsive house beats, and lyrics that carry weight, Jackie Deluxe takes cues from Todd Edwards, The Blessed Madonna, Caribou, Robyn, and Fred Again. “For me, Jackie Deluxe is about the emotion of the dancefloor,” Sherlock reflects. “It’s where memories are made—where joy, heartbreak, and confusion all blur under the lights.”
Outside draws lyrical inspiration from Michael Magee’s novel Close to Home, tapping into themes of fractured identity and the longing to belong. It's a song that aches quietly and moves boldly—a deep exhale wrapped in rhythm and colour.
“I finished the novel and felt such a strong connection to my own story,” says Sherlock. “The words came in a rush. I was buzzing to share them with Keith.”
Since early last year, the duo have been exchanging ideas across counties and screens—Sherlock crafting lyrical textures, Diffley building beats that pulse with life. Their creative chemistry hums beneath every bar of Outside, the first in a series of tracks set to land this summer.
